Structure analysis of automobile suspension system
1、 The function of suspension
Automobile suspension is a mechanism connecting the wheel and the body, which plays the role of supporting and damping the body. It mainly transfers the force between the wheel and the frame, and buffers the impact force from the uneven road surface to the frame or body, so as to reduce the vibration caused by this, so as to ensure the smooth driving of the car.
The typical suspension system structure mainly includes elastic elements, guiding mechanism and shock absorber. The elastic elements include leaf spring, air spring, spiral spring and torsion bar spring. The modern car suspension system mostly uses coil spring and torsion bar spring, and some cars use air spring.
2、 The difference between independent suspension and non independent suspension
Automobile suspension can be divided into two categories: independent suspension and non independent suspension. There is a difference between them.
Independent suspension can be simply understood as that there is no rigid connection between the left and right wheels, and all suspension components of one wheel are only connected with the vehicle body. The two wheels are not independent of each other, and there is a rigid shaft between them for rigid connection.
From the structure point of view, the independent suspension has better maneuverability because there is no interference between the two wheels. However, there is a rigid connection between the two wheels, which will interfere with each other, but the structure is simple and has better rigidity and trafficability.
3、 McPherson suspension
McPherson suspension is a common suspension, which is mainly composed of A-type fork arm and damping mechanism. The fork arm is connected with the wheel and mainly bears the transverse force and longitudinal force at the lower end of the wheel. The upper part of the damping mechanism is connected with the vehicle body, and the lower part is connected with the fork arm, which undertakes the task of vibration reduction and supporting the vehicle body, and also bears the lateral force of the upper end of the wheel.
